Midtown Houston

About Midtown

If you are a young professional who is considering a move to Houston, then the Midtown neighborhood is the area for you.  The trendy sushi restaurants and the bars sprinkled through the neighborhood blend with the loft apartments to create an atmosphere that is perfect for young people.

Bars and Restaurants

If you enjoy going out, then you will love places like 13 Celsius, which is a retail shop and wine car that stores its wines in an actual cellar.  Another great bar is Komodos which a lounge bar with a great patio area or another favorite patio bar of Midtowner˙s is located right around the corner- Front Porch Pub.  Other bars in Midtown include Woodrow˙s, Pub Fiction, Rich˙s, The Whiskey, Red Door, Tipsy Clover, The Roof, Open City and many more.  There is plenty to entertain you, but if you need more, check out The Maple Leaf Pub, which features a hockey theme, great drink specials, darts, Canadian beer and more.

If you like great Mexican food Cyclone Anaya˙s is the place and they also offer great margaritas!  You may also enjoy a place like REEF, with incredible seafood dining that will take your breath away.  The food at REEF is a welcome alternative to your average seafood restaurant, which tend to be completely without style.  Check out The Breakfast Klub for soul food that is worth waiting for, or if it˙s breakfast tacos your craving, there is always Tacos A Go Go across the street.  Tafia is another great restaurant that offers only locally grown food, check out their happy hour or Farmer˙s Market on Saturdays.

Shops

Midtown is full of interesting shops, including the Texas Junk Company, which offers plenty of eclectic options for shoppers.  If you˙re in the looking to shop for the home, High Fashion is four stories of pure shopping bliss.

There are spas in Midtown as well, including the Skyline Spa and Health Club.  There, you can get a massage, a manicure, or plenty of other treatments as well, and an overlook of town as well.  Whether you are visiting Sig˙s Lagoon, the record store with a Tiki theme and lots of local artwork, or Lab 5 Fashion, filled with designer clothing and denim for men and women, you will have an enjoyable time

Some Favorites

Midtown is full of things to do and place to go.  The locals have some favorites, including their Marble Slab Creamery, where locals go to get the scoop on pretty much anything.  Design your own ice cream with a few base flavors and tons of add ins, and enjoy the best ice cream in town.  If you˙re looking for a place to stay, Sabine Street Lofts are great, with luxury lofts right off the downtown area and designer touches for some extra class.

The Midtown area of Houston, Texas is full of life and excitement, which is helped in large part by the huge retail, residential, and commercial growth since the late 1990s.  The high level of development is brining in plenty of big name and trendy locales, meaning that it is the perfect area for professionals to settle, and a nice place for families, especially considering the proximity of several private schools.  Midtown, very near downtown Houston, is a wonderful place to move to within the city, and offers plenty of entertainment and pleasure to many different kinds of people.
